The stages of team development, often referred to as Tuckman’s stages, include the following:

1. Forming: In this initial stage, team members are introduced and begin to understand the team’s purpose. Relationships are tentative as individuals are polite and cautious.

2. Storming: As team members start to work together, conflicts may arise. This stage involves challenges as members assert their opinions and compete for roles. Communication problems and power struggles may occur.

3. Norming: During this stage, the team establishes norms and cohesion. Members start to resolve their differences, build relationships, and develop a sense of camaraderie. Collaboration improves as roles become clearer.

4. Performing: At this point, the team functions effectively and efficiently. Members are motivated and work toward the common goal, leveraging their strengths and supporting one another.

5. Adjourning: This final stage occurs when the team completes its task and disbands. Members reflect on their achievements and may experience a sense of loss as they separate.
