Every day at work we handle data about customers, colleagues and job applicants. Do you know what you can and cannot do with it? In this course you will learn what personal data and sensitive data are, who the data subject, the controller and the processor are, and how to apply the processing principles: purpose limitation, data minimisation, storage limitation and security. You will discover the rights of data subjects and how to respond to a request, in a step-by-step case study, and find out what to do when a data breach occurs. Based on international principles (the OECD Guidelines and Convention 108) and on the European Union's GDPR as the reference model, with examples from offices, shops, clinics, banks and warehouses, and a downloadable checklist. Protecting data means protecting people. The course is delivered in Portuguese.

What you will learn

• Apply the data processing principles, such as purpose limitation, minimisation, storage limitation and security, and recognise the lawful bases for processing.
• Recognise requests from data subjects and route them correctly, meeting the response deadlines.
• Describe the company's obligations, the role of supervisory authorities and the basic rules for international transfers.
• Recognise a personal data breach and report it immediately through the internal channel.
