Electricity cannot be seen or heard, and it gives no warning before it injures. In this awareness course, designed for people who are not electricians, you will understand how electric current causes shock, burns, arc flash and fires, and why overhead lines and buried cables are invisible hazards. You will learn to recognise the most common electrical hazards in the office, the warehouse, the workshop and on site, and to apply the golden rules for non-electricians: inspect before use, never repair or improvise, remove and report damaged equipment, respect locks and tags, and act correctly when someone has received an electric shock. Aligned with international good practice (IEC 60364, NFPA 70E and UK HSE guidance). The course is theoretical: it does not qualify you to carry out electrical work and does not replace certified practical training. The course is delivered in Portuguese.
