Good labour relations do not happen by chance: they are built with dialogue, clear rules and trust. In this intermediate-level course, you will follow Amina, a Human Resources officer at a fictitious industrial company, in her day-to-day relationship with the workers' representatives. You will learn about social dialogue and the international standards of the International Labour Organization that frame it, such as the conventions on freedom of association, collective bargaining and workers' representatives. You will identify the forms of representation and the role of each, plan an information and consultation process, handle an individual grievance fairly and with documentation, and recognise the signs of collective tension, with measures to prevent it. The course follows international standards and good practice; the specific rules in each country are set out in the applicable labour legislation, which you should always consult. The course is delivered in Portuguese.
