For many workers, the greatest risk of the day is on the road. In this theory course for professional drivers and employees who drive for work, you follow a fictitious mine and logistics company on dirt roads, through villages and on isolated routes. Identify the main risk factors: speed, alcohol and drugs, seat belts, mobile phones and fatigue, dirt roads, night driving, pedestrians, motorcycles and animals, 4x4 vehicles and lorries. Apply the principles of defensive driving: anticipation, following distance in seconds, escape space, seeing and being seen, safe overtaking and how to react to a tyre blowout. Check that the driver and the vehicle are fit before every journey, with a daily inspection, an emergency kit and a secured load. Finally, plan and monitor journeys with journey management and know how to act in the event of a breakdown or accident. Aligned with ISO 39001 and IOGP Report 365. Includes a vehicle inspection checklist and a journey plan template. This course does not replace practical driver training. The course is delivered in Portuguese.
