Heading to a platform, a drilling rig or a floating production unit for the first time? This theory course prepares you for what lies ahead: heliport check-in, the safety briefing, flight equipment and the rules on board the helicopter, transfer by vessel and personnel basket, the installation induction, life in cabins and on shifts, prohibited items and communication on board. Learn to recognise the alarms, go to the right muster station and record your presence with the T-card, and get to know the means of evacuation (helicopter, lifeboats and life rafts) and the principles of sea survival, including the dangers of cold water and hypothermia. Based on international industry good practice such as OPITO training standards, it is the ideal preparation for the mandatory practical training, which it does not replace. The course is delivered in Portuguese.

• Follow the rules for living together, safety and communication on board an offshore installation.

• Describe the methods of evacuating an installation and the principles of sea survival, including preventing hypothermia.
• Identify the certified practical training required before travelling to an offshore installation.
