Well-conducted collective bargaining protects the company, the workers and the relationship between them for years; poorly prepared bargaining can end in deadlock, a strike or an agreement nobody can apply. In this expert-level course, designed for human resources directors and labour relations managers, you will learn to prepare and conduct collective bargaining, manage collective disputes and draft and apply company agreements. The course starts from the ILO international standards (Conventions No. 87, No. 98, No. 154 and No. 144) and the principles of its supervisory bodies, and covers the actors and levels of bargaining, costing proposals with a spreadsheet, distributive and integrative strategies, running the sessions, drafting clauses, managing a strike while respecting rights, and conciliation, mediation and arbitration. It ends with a long-term labour relations strategy and an integrated case. With a fictitious company, decision scenarios, practical exercises, downloadable templates and checks in each module. Labour legislation varies from country to country: the course always refers to the applicable law and does not replace legal advice. The course is delivered in Portuguese.
