Protecting workers' health takes more than medical examinations: it takes a programme. In this course for supervisors, HSE technicians and HR professionals, you follow a fictitious company that runs camps for remote projects. Learn about the functions of occupational health services under ILO Convention C161, pre-employment, periodic and return-to-work examinations, and the rules on fitness for work and medical confidentiality. Organise the response to health risks in remote operations, with heat, fatigue, malaria, infectious diseases, water and food, and alcohol and drugs treated as a programme, and define on-site medical capability and medical evacuation. Identify psychosocial risks according to ISO 45003, including rotations away from family and isolation, and learn how to hold a supportive conversation. Finally, plan an annual programme with health promotion, HIV in the workplace, return to work, records and indicators. Includes a medical response plan template and an annual programme checklist. This course does not replace individual medical advice. The course is delivered in Portuguese.
