In the oil and gas industry, most of the work in the field is done by contractors, and everyone's safety starts the moment you choose who is going to do the work. This course explains how health, safety and environment (HSE) requirements are managed throughout a contract. You will understand the shared responsibility between operator and contractor, learn in general terms about the IOGP contractor management model and its Life-Saving Rules, and learn how to classify the risk of a service. You will assess a supplier's HSE information, interpret indicators such as LTIF and TRIR, and learn about the contractor's HSE plan and the bridging document. Finally, you will follow a contract from the kick-off meeting and induction through to the final evaluation, with a case study. For suppliers, contractors and procurement teams.
