Courses

Helmets, boots and gloves only protect you if they are the right ones, in good condition and worn properly. In this practical course you will understand why PPE is the last barrier between you and the hazard, learn to choose the right protection for head, eyes, ears, hands, feet, airways, body and work at height, and master the inspection, fitting, cleaning and replacement of equipment. Based on the hierarchy of controls, ILO conventions and international standards (ISO, with regional EN and ANSI equivalents), it includes examples from building sites, workshops and warehouses, interactive activities and checklists to use in the field. The course is delivered in Portuguese.

What you will learn

• Place PPE in the hierarchy of risk controls and explain why it is the last line of protection.
• Identify the responsibilities of the employer, supervisors and workers for PPE.
• Read the main standards and markings found on PPE.
• Select the right PPE for each type of risk (head, eyes, ears, hands, feet, airways, body and falls).
• Fit, inspect, clean, store and replace PPE correctly, keeping the required records.
