Category: SKU: OGP-214 Categories: , ,

More than a thousand metres down, where no diver works, wells, valves, lines and cables must function for decades, controlled remotely from an FPSO. In this intermediate course for engineers and technicians in deepwater projects and operations, you follow Kiala, a subsea systems engineer at Atlântico Sul Petróleos, a fictitious operator, and the team of the field tied back to the FPSO Horizonte Azul. Describe the architecture of a subsea field, tie-backs and the system life cycle. Identify the components of the wellhead and of vertical and horizontal Christmas trees. Explain the role of manifolds, rigid and flexible lines and risers, and flow assurance risks such as hydrates and wax. After learning about umbilicals, electro-hydraulic control and chemical injection, diagnose a loss of communication with a tree in a scenario. Plan, in theory, the inspection, maintenance and intervention of a fictitious field, with vessels, ROVs and light and heavy intervention. Aligned with API RP 17A / ISO 13628-1, API Spec 17D and API Spec 17E. The course is delivered in Portuguese.

What you will learn

  • Describe the architecture of a subsea field tied back to an FPSO and the life cycle of a subsea system.
  • Identify the components of the subsea wellhead and of a wet Christmas tree, vertical or horizontal.
  • Explain the role of manifolds, flowlines and risers and the main flow assurance risks.
  • Describe umbilicals, the electro-hydraulic control system and chemical injection.
  • In a scenario, diagnose a simple control system failure, such as a loss of communication with a tree.
  • Plan, in theory, the inspection, maintenance and intervention of a subsea system, with the appropriate vessels, ROVs and types of intervention.
