Why do so many large oil and gas projects end up over budget or behind schedule, and what can the owner's team do to prevent it? In this advanced course, you follow the Maré Alta project, the fictitious development of a deepwater field, from opportunity to first oil: the phased life cycle and stage-gate decisions, the final investment decision (FID) and governance aligned with ISO 21502; concept selection between an FPSO, a tie-back and a fixed platform, with a weighted matrix and value engineering; front-end engineering design (FEED), the basis of design and readiness for FID; AACE 18R-97 estimate classes, risk-based contingency and the baseline schedule; the contracting strategy, interfaces, fabrication, installation and local content; control with earned value, change management and progress reporting; and commissioning, startup, operational readiness and lessons learned. Includes downloadable spreadsheets and templates. All figures are illustrative. Aligned with ISO 21502:2020 and AACE International RP 18R-97. The course is delivered in Portuguese.

What you will learn
