Do you buy or sell goods that cross borders, and have you ever wondered who pays the freight, who deals with customs or who bears the loss if the cargo is damaged on the way? The Incoterms® 2020 rules, published by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), answer these questions with three letters and a place. In this course you will understand what the rules cover and what they leave out, get to know the 11 rules and their groups, work out in each transaction where risk passes and who pays each cost, including the compulsory insurance under CIF and CIP and customs clearance, and learn to choose the right rule for each purchase, with special attention to containers, control of transport and the precautions needed with EXW and DDP. With an international perspective, a fictitious company, case studies and interactive activities. The course explains the rules in its own words and does not replace the official ICC publication.
