In a construction contract, every risk that was not thought through before signing ends up appearing on site, in the form of variations, delays, claims or disputes. In this advanced course you follow the construction of a logistics centre for Nova Rota Logística, a fictitious employer, from identifying the risks to resolving the contractor's claims. You will identify the main risks of a construction project, compare the international standard contract models (traditional construction, design and build, turnkey; the FIDIC and NEC families of contracts, in general terms), draft and review the allocation of risk, choose guarantees, manage variations and delays, and handle claims within the contractual procedures. With case studies, decision scenarios, hotspots, drag-and-drop activities, an Excel exercise and downloadable templates. Designed for employers, contract managers and engineers. The course is delivered in Portuguese.
