Diesel, solvents, paints, acids, cement, cleaning products and gases are part of everyday life in workshops, building sites, warehouses, laboratories and oil and gas facilities. In this course you will learn where hazardous substances are found, how they enter the body and what effects they can have in the short and long term. You will read a label according to the United Nations Globally Harmonized System (GHS), interpret the nine pictograms, the signal word and the statements, and quickly find the essential information in the safety data sheet (SDS): hazards, first aid, handling and storage, PPE and disposal. Finally, you will practise safe handling, storage and the response to a small spill. Aligned with the GHS and ILO Convention No. 170 on chemicals. The course is delivered in Portuguese.
