Managers are close to people, organise the work and are often the first to notice that something is wrong. In this course for managers and human resources, you will understand the link between work and mental health, learn about psychosocial risks and the role of managers, with reference to the 2022 WHO guidelines and ISO 45003, and learn to tackle stigma. You will practise recognising warning signs and holding a supportive conversation: choosing the moment, asking and listening without judging, what to say and what to avoid, confidentiality and its limits, and what to do in a crisis. Finally, you will apply burnout prevention measures, propose reasonable adjustments, refer people to specialist support and follow up the return to work. With scenarios with decisions and a downloadable checklist. It does not replace support from health professionals. The course is delivered in Portuguese.
